Day 1: Valley Views-
Start your day early and leave for Rohtang Pass soon after breakfast. The journey to Rohtang Pass is around one and a half hours from the city center, but it’s a journey you will never forget. Located at a distance of 50 km, Rohtang Pass is the highest pass of the Himalayas. The moment your car climbs the Manali-Keylong road, a dramatic change is observed in the scenery around. The stunning landscapes with clear blue skies and mesmerizing beauty of the route have been featured in many Bollywood Blockbusters. Rohtang pass is surrounded by beautiful glaciers, waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, and lovely trails for trekking. But, of all, the Manali-Lahaul pass is viral. This trek covers regions with Sulphur Springs and Bhrigu Lake views. Other popular trekking trails are Batal to Rohtang and Jalori Pass and Gulaba to Bhrigu Lake. If you do not wish to explore on foot, you can take up biking. Adventurous routes and magnificent vistas will give you an adrenaline rush. Do not forget to click pictures and do some skiing if you know. Another not to miss activity from the Rohtang Pass adventure activities is Sledge Ride in a wooden sleigh. It will bring back the child in you. Refill your water bottles at Nehru Kund on your way back to Manali. Nehru Kund is a freshwater deposit that gets its water from melting glaciers. You can also cover Jogini Falls if there is daylight.
Day 2: Let the Adrenaline Rush-
Pump in some adrenaline by white water rafting on the Beas river. Take the longest route and enjoy the thrill of cold water rafting. The river rafting begins at 10:00 AM and is available all around the year. Avoid rafting during monsoon. After enjoying river rafting, you may leave for Manali’s favorite tourist destination - Solang Valley. Located 14 km from the main town of Manali, Solang Valley is a popular tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh. Nestled between the sloppy hills covered with snow and deodar forest, Solang valley offers a range of adventure activities in Manali. Parachuting, Paragliding, mountain biking, zorbing, gondola, zipline, and skiing are done in Solang Valley. The place is an adventure enthusiast’s first love. Skiing is generally done in the winter months. Once the snow starts to melt, zorbing takes over skiing. You can enjoy other adventure activities all around the year. You can enjoy eating hot maggie in between the mountain. The gears required for adventure activities are available for rent in the local shops. Make sure you bargain well. On your return from the valley, visit one of the famous cafes in Manali, Cafe 1947. The cafe overlooks the Beas river and has indoor and outdoor seating arrangements. The food and ambiance will leave you amazed. Head to the hotel and have a good night’s sleep.
Day 3: Exploring Manali-
Enjoy your breakfast and a hot tea/coffee cup admiring the beautiful apple garden. Then, get ready to explore the city you are living in! Head to Hidimba Devi Temple. The temple is built around a cave where Hidimba Devi meditated. You can reach the temple after a small hike. Head to Manali. Stroll around the mall road. The mall road has street shops and brand shops. You can buy winter wear and shawls from the street shops. Enjoy some local hot delicacies on the mall road. You can also find people serving hot gulab jamuns on the mall road. The mall road is always bustling with the crowd. After exploring the city, you may go back to the hotel and rest or go to a cafe and enjoy some delicious food.
Day 4: A modern planned city -
Leave for Chandigarh after breakfast. The journey from Manali to Chandigarh is 7-8 hours and a little tiring. On reaching Chandigarh, explore the city. Do visit the Chandigarh Mall, which is considered one of the largest malls in Northern India. The mall is quite huge and has rooftop bars providing a spectacular view of the surroundings. You can enjoy dinner and then head back to your hotel in Chandigarh.
Day 5: Roaming around the Planned City-
The capital city of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh, is located at the foothills of the Shivalik range of the Himalayas. The city was designed by the famous Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier. Chandigarh is famous for its architecture and buildings such as the High Court, Secretariat, Legislative Assembly, Capitol Complex, and Giant Open Hand Monument. Besides, it is also famous for greenery and clean roads. Capitol City is a government monument that holds and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It comprises three buildings: the Palace of Assembly, the High Court, and the Secretariat Building. It also houses four monuments - Geometric Hill, The Martyrs Monument, Geometric Hill, and Open Hand Monument) Visitors can get a pass by showing their id card at the desk of the monument. After exploring the city, you may leave for the airport or train station for your departure journey.
